Film Club Insider - Part 3

 ‘Sahab’ and 'Shaam-e-Syed'

27th of March 2022 was another exciting Sunday for all. With the Kennedy Auditorium on a full blast now, the University Film Club (UFC) has organised many upcoming events for all students and Aligs!

The UFC was honoured to host the premier of ‘SAHAB’, a film by @thecurlyfilms, starring the talented students of AMU! Directed by Mohd Anas and produced by Ayan Azmat Khan, it is a movie that the students of our university put in all their passion and dedication into producing, revolving around psychological drama of today’s youth. The screening began at 4 p.m. and the entire audience was continuously sat at the edge of their seats in anticipation of the premier. It was certainly a film that was filled with suspense and thrill, and left a mark on the enthusiastic audience’s minds. Anyone would definitely recommend a re-watch.

“This film will convey few messages for the upliftment of the society and shows it's real face towards the lower caste people of India with the flavour of mind blending sci fi concept.”

After the film screening and a short prayer break, another event was lined up and ready to go. It was a night to celebrate Aligarh’s pride, a tribute to the legendary late Sir Syed Ahmad Khan on his respected death anniversary.

In the presence of Dr Mohd Anas (President, UFC), the student convener of UFC Syed Suhaib kicked-off the evening with a welcome note to those present for the event, and Sir Syed’s role in the upliftment of education within the backwards sections of society. Then, the respected Mir Akhtar Sir (Chief Event Organiser, CEC) and Muzzamil Bhavani Sir (Program Director, CEC) were invited to the stage to share the story behind 'Nostalgia', a short film on an old boy's visit to AMU based on Tarana Instrumental by Mir Akhtar Husain.

The entire auditorium was packed for ‘Shaam-e-Syed’, all waiting to watch ‘Sir Syed - The Movie’ and to experience ‘Naghma-e-Aligarh’ whose visuals focused on how much we all missed AMU in the past two years. The walls were buzzing with the voices of Aligs when everyone sang along to the ‘AMU Tarana’, as they embraced the anthem that is very close to their hearts after two whole years, with tears in their eyes and with their phone flashes on, brightening up the whole room to express their uncontainable feelings! A memorable day came to an end, and the audience returned home with great joy.
