Internship Workshop Day 1: Scriptwriting and Critical Analysis

As a part of the FILMSAAZ 2023 Internship Programme, the University Film Club organised an intensive workshop on the literary forms of filmmaking; ‘Scriptwriting’ as well as ‘Critical Analysis’.

Internship Workshop Day 1

On the 23rd of February, the first workshop of the 2023 Internship Programme was held by Mahvish Fatima and Saim Khan, which focused on scripting and literary analysis of cinematic productions.

Script Writing workshop by Saim Khan

It began with Saim Khan’s scriptwriting exercise which engaged students into writing great scripts based on an interesting plot revolving around FILMSAAZ.

Critical Analysis workshop by Mahvish Fatima

This was followed by Mahvish Fatima’s critical analysis workshop, where she described the various aspects of filmmaking that are considered within an analysis of a cinematic production, such as lighting, colour palette, cinematography, content, audio, performance, and entertainment value

At the end of the forum, an excellent short film, ‘Rogan Josh’ by Sanjeev Vig, was screened to evaluate the interns’ understanding. At the end, all interns and members surely learnt a lot about writing in the cinematic context.

More such workshops are on the way, so make sure to check the UFC blog regularly for more updates.
