Internship Workshop Day 3 & 4: Filmmaking

One of the final workshops of the FILMSAAZ Internship was the ‘Filmmaking Workshop’ by Muzammil Bhawani Sir, the Programme Director of Cultural Education Centre.

Filmmaking Workshop by Muzammil Bhawani

This two-day workshop consisted of various activities and work to engage the students
, combining with his own personal touch as an experienced actor and director.

On the 28th of February and 1st of March, Muzammil Sir imparted his excellent cinematic vision and skills onto the interns and members of the University Film Club (UFC). He shared various technicalities regarding filmmaking and shooting, such as how to set frames while shooting, and how the frames should be in a way that has some meaning, and that while changing shots or camera angle one should be sure that the very next frame is has things that are related to the next.

Muzammil Sir showed the interns some images from a movie and asked us to describe it in a word or sentence like what one sees in that frame and what it depicts. He also made the workshops interactive by giving tasks on creating short films on hostel life, and analysed them frame-to-frame on the short films the interns submitted. He highlighted how different groups formed different films with different frames on the same topic. He even provided ideas to enhance their work. This workshop certainly allowed the attendees to gain a larger worldview of the filmmaking world.
